September 2006 – April 2009 - Interior Designer

  • Worked within a team to develop tenant design guidelines for new tenants applying for retail space at Vancouver International Airport

  • Assembled submission packages for several RFP’s (request for proposals) for a major airport retail concessions client.  Packages including:

  • Concept and materials presentation boards

  • Presentation quality perspective renderings

  • Store design and space planning

  • Written narratives describing store vision and offerings

Upside Software - Edmonton, AB

May – August, 2004 - Interior Designer (Project Leader) 

  • 19,000 Square foot space

  • Integrated and consolidated two separate office areas into one large space

  • Developed required drawings for engineers, contractors and building inspectors

  • Recruited a general contractor, trades people, and mechanical and electrical engineers

  • Coordinated all trades and ensured that the project stayed on schedule and on budget

  • Analyzed space planning and proximity requirements on an ongoing basis with representatives of various staff groups as well as members of executive management

  • Successfully executed all project deadlines (many of which were contingent upon construction, material delivery and installation)

 

Red Room Salon & Spa - Red Deer, AB

April – July, 2004 - Interior Designer (Project Leader)

  • 900 Square foot space

  • Designed a full service salon that offered hair services as well as complementary spa services

  • Evaluated and procured all salon furniture and equipment

  • Collaborated with salon staff to determine space requirements for each function performed within the salon (haircuts + washing, spa services, esthetics)

  • Effectively managed and resolved all issues that arose before, during and after construction.

  • Delivered the project on time and on budget

  • The final product not only met and exceeded the expectations of the client, it was also showcased in a local Red Deer newspaper

 

Linens N Things - Edmonton, AB

January – July, 2002 - Visual Merchandiser / Sales Associate

  • Customized merchandise displays to promote new products and/or increase sales for low-performance items

  • Created displays that integrated products from various sales departments in order to facilitate increased consumer awareness of merchandise

  • Advised and guided customers with color and fabric selections while working with budget constraints and existing pieces
